I watched it for a long time

He asked for separation

We were such that we could not refuse

How unfortunate for Zafar to be buried

Not even two yards of land was found in the well

With these regrets, let the two say and go

He said in such a place that his heart was stained

But keep your lips from smiling

Your eyes are very smiling

How do I get out of hand lines?

اس نے پوچھا کیا پسند ہے تمہیں

میں بہت دیر تک اسے دیکھتا رہا

اس نے مانگی تو جدائی مانگی

ہم تھے کہ ہمیں انکار کرنا نہ آیا

کتنا بدنصیب ہے ظفر دفن کیلیے

دو گز زمین بھی نہ ملی کنویں یار میں

ان حسرتوں سے کہ دو کہی اور جا بسے

اتنی جگہ کہا دل داگدار میں

لبوں کو لاکھ تبسم سے باز رکھ لیکن

تیری تو آنکھیں بہت مسکرانے والی ہیں

ہاتھ کی لکیروں سے کس طرح نکالوں میں؟

تیری یاد کے موسم تیرے نام کی آہٹ
